Paid $1 to have a picture of a walkie talkie! This app does NOTHING! It is a SCAM! Don"t waste your $ with this scammers!

Blutooth funktioniert sporadisch. Im w-LAN funktioniert es garnicht! Schwach!!

I bought this on a whim... and now wish I hadnt. There are no instructions, no "info" button in the app. No FAQ -- nothing that I can find. From the cryptic "help" Ive received from the email "support", Ive learned that the "Walkie Talkie Pro" works only within Bluetooth range or the range of the local WiFi router. And for that to work. any other person wanting to participate has to have the same app. Im told it wont work over the internet. Theres a "conference" feature thats "enabled", but no instruction on how to use it. Theres no link on the "support" page -- just an email address. The responses Ive gotten there have been minimal and havent addressed all my questions. The one positive thing: replies have been reasonably prompt. I cant give this just one star -- for all I know, it might actually work. But it suffers greatly from a lack of information. If youre thinking of buying, I suggest contacting the Support person if you have any questions about what the app does and how it works... and hope you get a useful reply.

I bought this because I wanted to be able to communicate with my wife without using the phone feature of our respective iPhones when were in the same supermarket or same floor of a department store for example. Unfortunately, though this app is very simple to use, the volume is just too low for anyone to hear anything especially in a public place like a supermarket. This despite the fact that both my wifes iPhone and mine had their volume turned up to maximum! This app wouldve been nicer if the developer fix the volume problem. In the meantime, I wouldnt recommend this app for anyone.

Doesnt work, exits right after startup, waste of money

The app is simple but works well at exactly what it says in the description before buying. If you have two or more i-devices you can fire up the app and hear everyone. Works great if you have a wifi base station in range of both devices. Example, my wife and I shoot weddingss and events. We bring an airport express wifi router and plug it in connected to nothing except power. Fire up some blue tooth headsets connected to the iPod touch or iPhone and launch this app. Select a channel and away you go, you have a airtime/cell data free high quality duplex walkie talkie solution. If you are looking for a voice over IP solution that works on the internet, this is NOT what this product does. Use Skype or something for that. But if you are looking for a wifi internal speaker / intercom system for examples I have mentioned this is one of the fastest app I have found yet. Limited audio delay as well as great audio quality. Thumbs up guys good work. Only thing I would improve is that when you exit the app, the app remembers the state of the app. Example mute on, channel 3… but other than that pretty much happy with this app. For a small setup not too much of a problem, but for a busy sales floor where you would want 2 or 3 people on different channels, might pose an issue if the app is shutdown and the person does not know what channel you pre configured it to. Channel 1 works for me :) for my 2 person setup.

Its cool but doesnt function on iPod touch. Kinda lame. Better walkie talkie apps out there.

You just need to use the mic.. I would Love to see more skins.. Tried other walkie talkies.. This one is the best by far

My 4-year-old was hovering over my shoulder as I tried to get this to work. The first time I ran the app, it wouldnt "register" -- the status light stayed red. When I finally got it to register, the voice feature didnt work. After relaunching several times, I finally got the voice part to work. Elated, we played with it for about 30 seconds. Then my phone wouldnt play back any sound from the other phone. I looked for support to see if maybe I was using the app incorrectly. The support link on the App Store page for this app takes you to a nearly empty site -- just three lines of text, telling you to email the developer for support. Lame. Sorry, not even worth 99 cents, its a big waste of time.

Total waste of money and time! How do I get my money back.

Loaded it up on my old iPhone (Edge and 3G) that my sons are using and also on my iPhone 4. We have no problem in using the program. I would rate it 5 stars if the Speaker Button would change color when selected as well as the mute button when muted.

Wow, if ever there was an app that needs instructions, this is it. (And it SHOULD be so easy it doesnt need instructions.) There is NO information or help button on the app. Even when I have two devices on the same WiFi network the little "status" light is red. Cant for the LIFE OF ME figure out how to make it work. I only give it two stars because other reviews seem to indicate that when you CAN figure out how to make it work, it works well. Make it obvious how to make it work and Ill give it more stars.

I dont have any clue why this got bad reviews. It works perfect for me and my wife. She has a 3GS (I have the 4 and the iPad). Works perfect between her phone and my iPad when connected to wifi. I havent tried it on my 4 nor have I tried it on BT. Great app. Simple to use. You have to be a total idiot if you cant figure out how to use it.

Tried downloading with my roommate, didnt work. Didnt do anything other than load the interface. It looked pretty, but that was it. Want my buck back.

This app is very frustrating. The developer is no interface genius. The interface is four buttons and a slider and the slider only updates the value its changing after you lift your finger. Thats just plain bad interface design. At first I couldnt get the thing to work at all. This has been my unfortunate experience with a lot of WiFi and Bluetooth apps which is why Im giving this three stars instead of two. Maybe the problems are related to the users networks rather than the apps? Some people seem to have no problem while others cant get these apps to work. Only by trying different channels with the slider did I finally get this app to work, although I have no confidence it was my fiddling that did it. It could have been network strength, interference, or the proximity of my poodle for all I know. Once I did get it working, it worked fine. Theres a slight lag in the audio like a long-distance call but thats no big deal. Im not confident itll work immediately the next time I launch it, so if you decide to buy this app, have some patience.

Poor/no support for background processing. Makes this worthless.

Bought the app after hearing the recommendation from Alex Lindsay on MacBreak Weekly (Thanks a lot, Alex... NOT!). Installed it on both my iPhone and iPad. Also convinced a couple of family members to purchase it and do the same. Had all kinds of problems getting devices to connect. I think we got the green light to show connected once or twice during hours of fiddling. Support tech told us to turn off bluetooth (are you kidding me?). We tried that with no noticeable effect. Bottom line: this app is WAY too much trouble.
